The Long Beach International Film Festival (LBIFF) takes place August 1 - 4 (Tuesday through Friday) in the City of Long Beach, where filmmakers, chefs, wineries and craft breweries will actively engage our audiences.
The best way to experience the festival is with a pass, which we offer at various price points. Tickets to individual events and films will be available on July 10th.
Each year we consider over 1,000 films to curate a collection of wonderful new independent films for our audiences to enjoy and discuss. The program includes both films screening in competition as well as out-of-competition, with both Juried and Audience Awards presented at our Awards Ceremony on Closing Night. The films are grouped into the following sections:
• Narrative Features Competition
• Documentary Features Competition
• Special Presentations
• Shorts Programs
FILM RATINGS AND CHILDREN
Most Festival films do not yet have MPAA ratings attached. Therefore parents should carefully read film descriptions and use their discretion when considering what might be appropriate for their children.
ACCESS TO VENUES
There is an order in which our audience members are admitted into each screening venue, panel discussion, and special events. Members of our Patron Circle enter first, followed by Festival Pass holders, followed by Cinema Pass and Day Pass holders. Non-passholders wait in a Rush Line and may purchase tickets if space remains available after all passholders have entered. All passholders must arrive no later than 20 minutes prior to show time. A pass does not guarantee a seat, so please be aware of venue capacities and arrive early for the most popular films. One individual must be present for each seat. Since seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis, you must be present in the theater to have claim to a seat.
In an effort to make the Festival more interactive, we encourage filmmakers to attend and conduct a Q&A after the film. This is a great opportunity to ask them your questions about the making of the film.
FESTIVAL FACULTY AND JURY
AUDIENCE AWARD VOTING
The Festival presents Audience Awards determined by popular vote of the audience. At screenings, viewers may receive a ballot to rate the film. Please return the ballot at the end of the screenings. All winners are announced at the Awards Ceremony.
FOOD. WINE. CRAFT BEER.
We’ve integrated Long Island's incomparable food, wine and craft beer into the film festival experience. You will enjoy wine/craft beer at most screening venues, with some offering glasses and even full bottles for sale. Food, wine and craft beer are cleverly paired and served up at all of our special events.
PLAN YOUR SCHEDULE
Since many films screen at multiple venues, you can maximize your film, food, wine and craft beer experience each day. Plan ahead using the online schedule for films and events. During the Festival, you can access this site from your mobile device so you can make changes to your plans on the go.
Plan Your Stay early, as rooms fill up quickly. Be sure to say that you are coming in for the Film Festival, as most lodging properties offer special festival rates. Make sure to apply promotional discount codes while making your reservation.
Travel time between Festival villages can vary, especially on the weekends or during rush hour. The distance between Long Beach & Rockville Centre is 5 miles and takes approximately 15 minutes by car. Plan ahead and always Festival Responsibly! Wine, dine, but please don’t drink and drive.
For same day service, we recommend Uber, Long Beach Taxi (516-523-0064), Beech Street Taxi (516-431-4444) or Village Car Service (516-764-8888)
Each venue listing has a map link for easy navigation around the Festival.

Some may require an advance RSVP, so please check the Special Events schedule.
All passholders may redeem perks at participating boutiques, restaurants, spas, and businesses in Long Beach. Simply flash your pass to receive these special offers or discounts.
